Wayne State University Law School

The following Wayne State University Law School students have received fellowships from Equal Justice America. These fellowships are made possible by contributions from Wayne State law alumni. With continued support from the alumni, we look forward to putting many more Wayne State law students to work providing vitally needed legal assistance to the poor.

(Equal Justice America is an independent non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation unaffiliated with any law school.)

"I cannot help but feel grateful for this experience... I was eager to learn, and all of the attorneys and summer clerks were just as eager to teach me. No two days were the same when it came to Legal Services and I am grateful for the variance. I began this summer with one goal, which was to gain as much experience as I could. Without a doubt, I did just that."

It was inspiring to me to see the strength of these women who left their abusers to ensure the safety and security of themselves and their children. Through tears, stress and hard work, these women were able to create a new life for themselves with the help of free legal aid [at the Family Law Project]. Their stories will continue to inspire me as I work towards my career in the public interest and my future goals to work as a lawyer on behalf of victims of crime
