Michigan State University College of Law

The following Michigan State University College of Law students have received fellowships from Equal Justice America. These fellowships are made possible by contributions from Michigan State law alumni. With continued support from the alumni, we look forward to putting many more Michigan State law students and graduates to work providing vitally needed legal assistance to the poor.

(Equal Justice America is an independent non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation unaffiliated with any law school.)

"I cannot express enough gratitude to Equal Justice America for the opportunities this fellowship has afforded me. The financial support was instrumental in overcoming obstacles that might have otherwise hindered my involvement. My summer experience was incredibly enriching, and I eagerly anticipate a long-lasting relationship with this remarkable organization. Thank you, Equal Justice America, for enabling this transformative experience."

Thank you for the opportunity to work at Legal Services of South Central Michigan (LSSCM) with the funding of an Equal Justice America fellowship. The EJA Fellowship played a crucial role in helping me find my purpose through helping LSSCM’s indigent clients. When I started law school I knew I wanted to help people and pursued a volunteer experience with Michigan Legal Help in my first semester. As an EJA Fellow at LSSCM, I was able to affirm my commitment to public service. After this summer, I am sure that I have found where I fit in and the field in which I am destined to work.

I would like to thank all of those working to make the Equal Justice America fellowship possible. I am honored to be an EJA fellow, and I assumed reception of the fellowship as a serious responsibility to perform to my fullest capacity in my summer position [at the Legal Services of South Central Michigan]. Being chosen as a fellow meant more than just provision of financial means; it meant I had a duty to the donors, those at EJA who reviewed my initial application, and to the clients I served.
