"The most impactful part of my internship was working directly with clients and listening to their testimonies, stories of persecution, violence, and trauma they or their loved ones endured in their home countries. I spoke with children who fled forced gang recruitment and abuse, young women who escaped gender-based persecution, and families who endured years of instability and fear. These conversations were humbling and served as powerful reminders of the courage and resilience required to rebuild a life from scratch in a foreign country... This experience reaffirmed why I came to law school: to stand alongside people whose rights, dignity, and futures are at stake."
