At Legal Aid Chicago, in their Children and Families practice, I was able to receive substantive work and direct client experience with folks who are sorely underrepresented in the legal field. The lessons I learned about client management, court operations, and legal drafting, I will take back to school and well into my career. By providing funding to law students doing this important work, EJA not only helps provide experience to law students, but it also makes an immense impact developing future lawyers for public interest legal work.
