Kristen Cain has spent her law school years fighting for dignity and due process in the immigration system. She has worked closely with her professors to investigate and expose the abusive conditions inside a local ICE detention facility—advocacy that continued even after the report’s publication. Now, as an EJA Fellow at the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, Kristen is working directly with detained immigrants to secure their release and defend them in removal proceedings. Her long-term goal: to help dismantle the carceral foundations of immigration enforcement.
