Pennsylvanians for Equal Justice

In 2009, Equal Justice America launched its Pennsylvanians for Equal Justice campaign to increase legal services to the poor by creating additional Law Student Fellowships in the state, putting more law students to work with Pennsylvania legal aid organizations.

Funding for EJA Fellowships for Drexel University, Duquesne University, Penn State, University of Pittsburgh, Villanova University and Widener University law students derive from our Pennsylvanians for Equal Justice campaign. (To be eligible for an EJA Fellowship, students from these schools must find placements with legal aid organizations in Pennsylvania.)

The following law students have received Equal Justice America Fellowships since our launch of Pennsylvanians for Equal Justice. Your support will help us expand our program to put more law students to work in Pennsylvania on behalf of the poor.

(Equal Justice America is an independent non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation unaffiliated with any law school.)

"I’m so proud of the work I was able to assist in this summer, and I look forward to continuing to explore the many pathways of public interest law. Thank you to Philadelphia Legal Assistance and Equal Justice America for making this experience possible."

I am forever grateful to Equal Justice America because your generosity permitted me to work for the Civil Law Project of the Women’s Center & Shelter. Before my internship, I never thought I would be interested in family law. After my internship, however, I am not only interested in family law, but could see myself doing exactly this type of work as a future lawyer. This work is both very fulfilling and very rewarding. I am eternally grateful for this opportunity I had this summer and look forward to working in the same area of law in my future endeavors. Thank you again for the generosity and opportunity you have given me this summer. It is a summer I will truly never forget.
